Music & Lyrics by Johnny Marks, Script Adaptation by Robert Penola
Portland’s newest family holiday tradition returns with Northwest Children’s Theater’s (NWCT) live stage musical adaptation of the 1964 Rankin/Bass stop motion animated special: Rudolph the Red-Nosed Reindeer. The show was a hit with last season’s audiences who loved seeing their favorite holiday characters come to life onstage.
Because of his red, shiny nose, Rudolph doesn’t feel like he belongs in Christmastown and sets off to find a place that accepts him. Along his journey, he encounters fellow misfits Hermey the Elf and Yukon Cornelius, only to realize that home is where he’s belonged the whole time. When a storm threatens to keep Santa’s sleigh from taking flight, it’s up to Rudolph to save Christmas!
