The Big Move | Northwest Children's Theater and School

Help Northwest Children’s Theater Build a New Home!

Access to arts programming in schools is disappearing and
quality performing art spaces in Portland are being pushed out as the city grows.
Portland needs the arts to jumpstart our communal, cultural, and civic life.

NWCT is needed now more than ever.

NWCT has educated and entertained more than 1 million children, parents, grandparents, teachers, and students in our 30-year history. Our new home at 1000 Broadway will guarantee that impact continues for the next 30 years. Located in downtown Portland, across the street from the Arlene Schnitzer Concert Hall and Newmark theater, The Judy Kafoury Center for Youth Arts — or as we lovingly call it, The Judy — will grow NWCT’s mission and welcome families back to the heart of our city. The grand opening is scheduled for early 2023.

The lease at 1000 Broadway is signed, but we still need your help to make The Judy a reality.

Overall funding picture:

  • $6.3 million needed overall
  • $5.75 million raised
  • $550,000 left to raise

Help NWCT Impact the Community for the Next 30 Years!

Campaign Mission

Use the power of theater to ignite children’s imaginations and empower them to impact their worlds as they navigate their future.

NWCT provides a safe space for children and young people to
explore their creative possibilities and discover
they are capable of things they may never have imagined.
– Paula Winch, Parent
