NWCT COVID-19 Safety Protocols

NWCT COVID-19 Safety Protocols

Last updated 2/22/2023

Ensuring the safety of NWCT’s patrons, staff, artists, and students is crucial. Everyone at NWCT appreciates your family working together to help keep this community safe! Please review the procedures below with your family before coming to a performance, class, or camp. Policies are based on CDC, state, and local guidelines for safety procedures. Policies are subject to change based on case numbers and current guidelines.

COVID Safety During Performances

Masks & Vaccinations

  • Generally, NWCT does not require audience members to wear a mask or show proof of COVID-19 vaccination.
    • Select shows do require masks. Those shows are labeled as “Masks Required” on your ticket. (Please note that there may be other programs happening in the building. Masks will not be required in common areas, including the lobby).
  • The majority of NWCT staff and artists are fully vaccinated and boosted against COVID-19.

Symptoms and Quarantine

Please do not attend a performance if you have tested positive for COVID-19 or have a primary COVID symptom.

Primary symptoms are:

  • A fever of 100.4 or higher
  • Chest cough
  • Loss of taste or smell
  • Difficulty breathing

  • If you are exposed to COVID-19 but display no symptoms, the CDC recommends wearing a high-quality mask indoors for 10 days following exposure to protect others.
  • If you test positive for COVID-19 or have a primary symptom, the CDC recommends that you quarantine for 5 days.
  • NWCT requires that primary symptoms are clear before coming to an NWCT show. A high-quality mask should continue to be worn indoors for 10 days following a positive test.
  • If you need to exchange your ticket due to testing positive for COVID, please contact our Box Office at info@nwcts.org.

NWCT reserves the right to ask any staff member, patron, or artist who displays primary COVID-19 symptoms to leave the building.

NWCT requests that any positive COVID-19 tests in the days following attendance at a performance be reported to NWCT so that we can alert potentially exposed patrons and staff. Personal information will be kept confidential.

If you have any questions or concerns about COVID protocols for performances, please contact the NWCT Box Office at info@nwcts.org.

COVID Safety During Classes and Camps

Before Coming to Class

Please do not attend class if your child has tested positive for COVID-19 or has a primary COVID symptom.

Primary symptoms are:

  • A fever of 100.4 or higher
  • Chest cough
  • Loss of taste or smell
  • Difficulty breathing

NWCT is following current CDC guidance around positive cases and exposures:

  • Students must quarantine for 5 days after receiving a positive test or having a primary symptom.
  • Primary symptoms must be clear before returning to class. Students may return to class sooner than 5 days if they produce a negative COVID test.
  • If a student is exposed to someone with COVID-19, quarantine is no longer required.

Symptoms & Positive COVID Tests

NWCT reserves the right to ask any staff member, patron, or student who displays primary COVID-19 symptoms to leave the building.

  • Students will wait comfortably outdoors (or isolated indoors if weather is inclement) with a dedicated staff member who will contact their parent or caregiver to arrange for immediate pick-up.
  • Any student, teaching artist, or staff member displaying primary COVID-19 symptoms will be asked to get tested before returning to class.

We request that any positive COVID-19 tests during class or in the days following class be reported to NWCT so that we can alert exposed students. Personal information will be kept confidential.

During Class

Masks are now optional while taking classes at NWCT. Students and teachers are welcome to continue wearing masks, and everyone will be supported in their choice.

If you have any questions or concerns about COVID safety protocols for NWCT classes and camps, please contact our Education Team at classes@nwcts.org.
