Acting

Introduction to Acting

Ages 6-14

Learn basic acting techniques, tips and terms. This fun format introduces students to warm-ups, stage direction, theater etiquette, character analysis, scene work and more. Intro II students will work on more advanced material, and are invited to attend a free performance of Sleeping Beauty, on May 10 at 2 p.m. This class is a suggested prerequisite to playlab classes.

Mindy has developed this brand new class especially for young actors. She will use music and games to help students feel comfortable with their bodies, posture, movement choices, and characterizations both human and animal.

Intermediate Acting

Age 11-16

Review basic acting techniques then move on to in-depth character analysis, monologues, scene work and more. Intermediate students will be invited to attend a free performance of Sleeping Beauty, May 10 at 2 p.m. Previous class or performance work required.

Advanced Acting Studio - Session III

Ages 11-18

This studio class is for advanced performers seeking to perfect theater skills and awareness. Intensive study of technique, monologue, and scene work from classic plays are combined with exciting and relevant professional guests. A year-long, three-term commitment is recommended. Instructor approval or KidsPro NW membership required.

Private Coaching

All Ages

One-on-one intensive coaching for musical and non-musical theater. A coach will help you choose/polish music and monologues or work on specific acting needs. Musical Theater

Beginning Voice and Dance

Ages 9-14

Ez and Mindy will introduce students to voice and dance techniques, with an emphasis on performing for musical theater. The classes will work on solos and group numbers from favorite musicals.

Really Tall Tales—Johnny Appleseed

This merry romp, complete with guitar pickin’, is based on American folk heroes such as Calamity Jane, Pecos Bill and Chief Sitting Bull. Now, we don’t really know if they met Johnny Appleseed, but for goodness sake take this fun class and pretend they did!

Musical Masters—Woody Guthrie: This Land!

Audition Workshop

Ages 9-18

This intensive audition workshop will prepare students for various types of auditions. Students will compile resumes, learn cold-reading, improv techniques, and audition etiquette. Guests will provide information on varied audition topics. Each student will receive individual coaching to prepare a monologue and a song for audition. Tuition includes information booklet and Star Struck Seminar. Last class is your season audition.

Star Struck Seminar

All Ages

Does your child have stars in their eyes? Then attend this seminar! Agents, directors and young actors will present information on kids in the “Business.” Topics include training, costs, portfolios, agents, odds of success and much more. Afterwards, mingle with the panel for one on one dialogue. Information booklet and light refreshments included.
