NWCT was founded by Diane Carlsen, Judy Kafoury and Carolyn Newsom with deep professional ties to the education community. In fact, the first tenet in NWCT’s mission is ‘to educate’. As a result, NWCT is deeply committed to supporting fellow educators with accessible, high-quality arts experiences for their students.
With a staff of accredited educators and dedicated teaching artists, NWCT’s outreach programming is structured to assist teachers in meeting ODE arts benchmarks, with special emphasis on literacy. In addition to award-winning school matinees, we customize in-class residencies and after-school programming to meet the needs of teachers and students with maximum affordability and flexibility.
At NWCT, we believe all students should have equal access to quality arts experiences, and with the generous support of foundations, corporations and donors can usually offer special pricing to qualifying schools and programs. NWCT also offers customized daytime programming for homeschool groups. Please call 503-222-2190 for more information.
