The following classes will end with a playlab performance.
Students will audition, rehearse, and perform.
Everyone gets a part!
Size or nature of roles is at the professional discretion of our instructors.
All roles provide a valuable learning experience.
No refunds granted due to dissatisfaction with assigned roles.

The Good, The Bad, and The Cookie Ages 7-11
Rapunzel got a crew cut, Cinderella’s mice are on strike, and Granny’s gone bungee jumping! Something is seriously rotten in the land of Fairy Tales! Can a ragtag band of classic characters solve this mystery and set their stories right before it’s too late?

The Continued Adventures of Little Red Riding Hood Ages 7-11
Discover what happened after Little Red Riding Hood’s “happily ever after.” When three princes simultaneously ask for Little Red’s hand in marriage, she and her sisters have their work cut out for them. Throw in an evil Queen, a fairy godmother, and a very unusual dragon and you’ve got one mixed-up fairytale on your hands!

Romeo & Winifred Ages 12-16
Gallop apace, you fiery-footed steeds, towards Montague’s Department Store! Shakespeare’s most famous play comes to life as you’ve never seen it before in this hilarious adaptation that finds the Capulets and the Montagues warring for retail space in modern day NYC. This playlab has it all, romance, rivalry, and pie fights?

Family Theater

Each winter we offer a unique family class that allows families to rehearse and act together. Sign up and share a special time with your young person!

The Road to Brementown Ages 7 & Up
The road to Brementown is paved with dreams. When a donkey, a rooster, a dog, and a cat are cast out of their farmstead homes they join together to do the only thing that makes sense … form a musical group! Get the family band back together in NWCT’s fantastically fun family playlab.

Skills Classes

Skills classes are for beginning and intermediate students looking to learn a specific theater skill and take their performance to the next level.


Acting Essentials: Performance Studies Ages 7-14
Build foundational performance skills through the P’s and C’s of acting (Projection, Pronunciation, Posture, Character, Creativity, and Courage). This class incorporates scene work, improv, and character development and is a suggested prerequisite to Playlab classes.

Mime & Clowning Ages 7-10
Tumble, roll, and leap your way to laughter! Discover the fundamentals of clowning, slapstick, and mime in this high-energy exploration of physical comedy. Learn from the best as you study the greats from Pantalone to Jack Sparrow. The perfect opportunity for "class clowns" to harness their talents and use their skills for good!

Improv: Mockumentary Ages 11-14
The most amazing true story of all time has never been told… because you haven’t made it up yet. Take to the stage in this hilarious homage to mockumentary classics from Waiting for Guffman to The Office. “This class goes to 11.”

Stage Combat Ages 10-16
Back by popular demand! Trained fight choreographers will lead beginning students through the building blocks of stage combat as they learn how to stab, slap, tumble, and kick with control. Returning students will use the techniques they learned this fall to create compelling theatrical fights.

Musical Theater & Dance

Harmony! Ages 8-14
Take your vocal performance to the next level! Develop the foundations of proper vocal technique, choral singing, and harmony in this 9-week choral experience. Students will explore their vocal range with song styles including musical theater, pop, folk, and more. Recommended for Studio JR and Kid’s Company NW students.

Voice & Dance Combo: Songs of Rebellion Ages 7-14
Become a triple threat (to the establishment!). Sharpen your dance, vocal, and acting skills through the songs of rebellious youth from Annie, Matilda, West Side Story and more! Students will workshop group choreography as well as solo performances.

Explore Classes

Explore classes encourage young and beginning students to explore their world through art and imagination. Students are introduced to theater through creative drama and ensemble games.

Minecraft Adventures Ages 6-9
Take your theater training to the next dimension as you enter the cube-strewn lands of Minecraft. Work with your classmates to construct new theatrical worlds inspired by the popular game, then fill them with every fantastical location and creature you can dream up. Activate Adventure Mode!

Reporting Live! Ages 7-10
In the fast-paced world of improv news, you need to think on your feet! Each class, students will be challenged to create new characters and improvise breaking news stories. Teamwork will be fostered. Headlines will be made. Legends will be born. News Team Assemble!

Bug Meets World Ages 3-5
Experience the story of Little Miss Muffet from the spider’s point of view! From butterflies to beetles, our youngest thespians will explore life in big world of bugs from “The Ant and the Grasshopper” to “The Very Lazy Ladybug.“

Run away and join the circus at NWCT! Be you lion tamer or acrobat, clown or ringleader, NWCT’s Circus Fantastique invites you to pull back the tent flap and discover the adventure that awaits Under the Big Top!

Where the Sidewalk Ends: Shel Silverstein Sampler Ages 4-6
Where the sidewalk ends, the adventure begins! Explore the absurd and imaginative world of Shel Silverstein, filled with flying shoes, diamond gardens, and crocodile dentists. Don’t forget to wash your shadow!

Home School Drama Club Ages 6-10
Come one, come all to NWCT's Home School Drama Club! Explore characters, storytelling, and the wondrous places your imagination will take you in this create drama class. Perform a scene or write one of your own. Learn the fundamentals of performance!
