Girl Scout Workshops at NWCT!

NWCT's Girl Scout Workshops allow you to learn about theater, participate in lively theater activities, attend a NWCT performance, and bond with friends. Taught by NWCT teaching artists, these workshops are designed to allow Girl Scouts to complete steps toward earning Creative Play and Performance badges.

Girl Scout Workshops are designed for Brownies (Grades 2-3), Juniors (Grades 4-5), Cadettes (Grades 6-8), and Seniors (Grades 9-10). See program dates below for which workshops are for each Level.

MATINEE WORKSHOPS
Although these workshops are designed for Girls Scouts, they are open to all children.
Join a scheduled session on your own or with your troop. A minimum of ten (10) participants is required to run a Matinee Workshop.

Cost: $22/participant
Price includes 60-minute theater workshop and one (1) ticket to NWCT matinee performance.
One adult chaperone is required for every ten (10) participants. Chaperone is free. Additional adults are $11/each.

PRIVATE WORKSHOPS & SATELLITE PROGRAMS
Our Private Workshops and Satellite Programs offer an experience exclusive to your troop. Choose a workshop title and contact NWCT to arrange a date and time. A minimum of ten (10) Scouts is required and one chaperone for every ten (10) participants.

Cost: $150/workshop
Price includes 90-minute theater workshop and associated badge. A mileage fee will apply to Satellite Programs.

“Character Choreo” Workshop
Feel the beat! Tap your feet! In this workshop, Girl Scouts will explore dance and movement through music, maps, abstract art, and other unusual sources of inspiration.
(Grds 2-3)
Brownie: Dancer
 
“History in Action” Workshop
Using famous artwork and old photographs, Girl Scouts will bring history to life! Tell the story of the moment captured in time. Give a voice to silent photos. Dress up as a character from history and host a party with other characters!
(Grades 4-8)
Junior: Playing the Past
Cadette: Public Speaker
 
“Performance Pieces” Workshop
Using text from Shakespeare to Simon, Girl Scouts will work with selected scenes and monologues as they are introduced to performance, objectives, obstacles and tactics.
(Grds 6-10)
Cadette: Public Speaker
Senior: Troupe Performer
 
POLICIES

Payment
Full payment is due at the time of registration. Reservations will NOT be accepted without full payment.

Refunds
In order to receive a full refund, the registration must be cancelled at least two (2) weeks prior to the workshop date.
Cancellations received less than two (2) weeks and more than one (1) week before the Workshop date will receive a 50% refund.
Cancellations received less than one (1) week from the workshop date will receive no refund or credit.

Cancellation
A workshop can be cancelled by NWCT if it does not meet the minimum attendance threshold. In the event of a cancellation, you will be notified at least 5 days before the workshop date and offered an alternative date or refund.
