Acting

Introduction to Acting Ages 6-14
This fun format introduces students to basic acting techniques, tips and terms. Class will work on projection, stage direction, theater etiquette, scene work and more. Students are invited to attend Seussical for free! Suggested prerequisite to playlab classes.

Pratfalls & Double Takes! Ages 9-12
The Three Stooges walk into a glass door, slip on a banana peel or bop each other’s heads and we laugh. But physical comedy should be taken seriously! (It’s a pun!) Sam will help you learn tricks and techniques both funny and safe. Add improv, to help you think on your feet or your back, throw in spit takes, then stir lightly!

Shakespeare-ience! Ages 11-16
Come and get acquainted with William, William Shakespeare that is! George is passionate about theater with a fun and accessible approach to teaching. He will introduce students to the stories, times, language, humor, and drama of the Bard himself through selected scenes and monologues. Limit 10.

Private Coaching All Ages
One-on-one intensive coaching for musical and non-musical theater. A coach will help you choose and polish music or monologues, or work on specific acting needs. Grimm TV!s Ages 8-11
Have fun learning on-camera skills for film and TV. Practice commercials, improvisation and scene work which include villains and monsters from Grimm Tales! Limit 8.

rehearse, and perform. Everyone gets a part!

Size or nature of roles is at the professional discretion of our instructors. All roles provide a valuable learning experience. No refunds granted due to dissatisfaction with assigned roles. Most performances will be videotaped and made available for purchase.

Fairy Tales & Myths

The Shoemaker's Elves Ages 7-10
It’s wintertime so the Shoemaker and his wife leave food and a cozy, warm basket for the tiny elves. And boy oh boy those amazing little elves really appreciated it. Come and find out how the elves repay the kindness. And remember…always be kind to tiny creatures!

Le Malade Imaginaire Ages 7-10
In collaboration with the French theater Fabulations, NWCT offers a playlab taught and performed in French! Adapted for young children, Molière’s last comedy, The Imaginary Invalid offers a swarm of funny characters led by Argan who is sick, very sick…with nothing! He makes things rough, very rough, for his family with hilarious results! Intermediate or advanced level French preferred.

The Case of the Hysterical Clown Ages 10-14
The Fun Center has closed but the twins continue to hear hysterical laughter. Being amateur sleuths of course they decide to investigate. Shady characters, an international mystery and danger await them and their pals!

The Snow Queen Ages 9-14
Evil imps break a magic mirror and a piece of it pierces a boy’s eye. He is then stolen away by the cold-hearted Snow Queen to live in her Ice Castle! His best friend vows to rescue him and is threatened by robbers, magical animals and immortal strangers! This exciting musical adventure, based on the Hans Christian Andersen classic, celebrates the power of friendship.

Family Theater

Each winter we offer a unique family class that allows families to rehearse and act together. Sign up and share a special time with your young person!


Heidi's Frankfurt Adventure Ages 8 & Up
Heidi, the enduring heroine of the Alps is sent to Frankfurt to be the companion to the invalid Clara. But conflicts with the strict housekeeper Fraulein Rottenmeier, threaten her health and give rise to a strange haunting. Parents welcome for $35 each.

Scouts & Brownie Badge Workshop Ages 7 & Up
Boys welcome too—(planned activities may not qualify boys for a theater badge.) Attend a theater class, see a show and complete your theater badge on the same day! Room for a short meal is provided. Scout leader is free. Other parents/chaperones pay half-price.
