Acting

Introduction to Acting Ages 6-14
This fun format introduces students to basic acting techniques, tips and terms. Class will work on projection, stage direction, theater etiquette, scene work and more. Students invited to attend a free performance of Cinderella. Suggested prerequisite to playlab classes.

Intermediate Acting Ages 11-16
Review basic acting techniques then move on to in-depth character analysis, monologues, scene work and more. Intermediate students are invited to attend a free performance of Cinderella. Previous class or performance work required.

Private Coaching All Ages
One-on-one intensive coaching for musical and non-musical theater will help you choose and polish music, monologues or scenes and give you audition tips and techniques. Film & Video

Grimm to Glee TV Ages 8-16
Have fun learning on-camera/audition skills for film and TV. Practice commercials, improvisation and scene work, from fairy tales to high school glee club! Award-winning Sandra Peabody will guide as you gain confidence working with both comedic and dramatic film scripts. Limit 8.

Miss Muffet & the Spider Ages 3½-5
The children wait for Mother Goose so they can act out the story of fearful Miss Muffet. But she is long at the fair, Oh Dear! What can the matter be? This funny little musical play is perfect for our youngest beginning actors. Limit 8.

The following classes will put on a play. Students will audition,
rehearse, and perform. Everyone gets a part!

Size or nature of roles is at the professional discretion of our instructors. All roles provide a valuable learning experience. No refunds granted due to dissatisfaction with assigned roles. Most performances will be videotaped and made available for purchase.

An Enchanting Mystery! Ages 9-14
This original fairy tale has magic, music and an enchanting mystery to solve: something is happening in the Fey Forest; shadows linger too long, disagreements break out between fairies, goblins and elves, and the fairy queen and elf king have grown despondent. What kind of evil is afoot?

The Beanstalk Speaks! Ages 7-10
A Beanstalk begins to grow in the village; it recites, it scolds, it implores! But in a language no one knows! Why is it growing there? What does it want? What is it trying to say? The curious villagers try to teach the stubborn Beanstalk to speak their language – with humorous results!

Classical Theater

Cupid & Psyche Ages 12-18
This timeless tale of tragedy and love was first written by Apuleius, 200 AD—although the story is much older. It still resonates and is thought to have inspired tales such as Beauty and the Beast. Come and experience this true classic; meet beautiful Psyche, her jealous sisters and an assortment of Greek gods and goddesses!

Star Struck Seminar All Ages
Does your child have stars in their eyes? Attend this seminar! Agents, directors and young actors will present information on kids in “The Business.” Topics include training, costs, portfolios, agents, odds of success and much more. Afterwards, mingle with the panel for one on one dialogue. Information booklet and light refreshments included. STUDIO NW members free.

Audition Workshop (NWCT Season auditions 6/5-8) Ages 8-18
This intensive audition workshop will prepare students for various types of auditions. Students will compile resumes, learn cold-reading, improv techniques, and audition etiquette. Guests will provide information on varied audition topics. Each student will receive individual coaching to prepare a monologue and a song for audition. Tuition includes information booklet and Star Struck Seminar. Last class is your NWCT season audition.
